Megadeth's Dave Mustaine: We have about eight songs ready for Dystopia follow-up

Posted on March 19, 2019 at 7:45 PM Comments comments (0)

Dave Mustaine says he has “about eight songs” ready for the new Megadeth album.

They’ve been working on the follow-up to 2016’s Dystopia since last year, with one of the tracks tentatively titled The Dogs Of Chernobyl.

And in a new interview with Music Radar, the guitarist and vocalist says they still have more surprises up their sleeve.

Mustaine says: “Whenever I’ve been home, I’ve been working on new music from 10 in the morning to seven at night.

“My co-producer Chris Rakestraw from the Dystopia team has been helping with pre-production on songs. I have about eight songs and there’s one which is just unanimously everyone’s favourite, which is great.

“I’m not saying there’s only one good song so far though! Let’s just say whenever I have that first song everyone gets excited about, I know I’m on my way to another great record.”

Mustaine adds: “We’re going to do 12 or 13 tracks this time. My contract says I’m only supposed to do eight songs a record and I just can’t do that – it feels like cheating.

“When I grew up listening to vinyl, it was a lot easier to buy a record and be happy with 45 minutes of music. When the digital world came, the paradigm changed – a musical offering needs a lot more.

“People aren’t satisfied and hit fast-forward a lot. So right now, we know we’re off to a good start. This new material is only going to get better and better.”

Megadeth will release their new compilation album Warheads On Foreheads this coming Friday (March 22) and recently revealed they’d mark their 35th anniversary with a new graphic novel titled Death By Design.

KISS have confirmed that the rumors of Eric Singer being rushed to the hospital are false. In social media posts by KISS and the drummer, the hoax was clarified, and KISS’ farewell tour will go on as scheduled.

Monday (March 18) word was going around that Singer had been hospitalized for blood clots following a gig in Cleveland. KISS management quickly confirmed the reports were false and KISS have now publicly denounced the rumors.

“Evidently there are people who think it is cool/funny to have ‘fake’ Facebook accounts and play pretend... I am fine and just played Cleveland (hometown) last night...just to clarify any Hoaxes started today regarding ME,” writes Singer.

KISS added via Instagram, “HOAX! Eric Singer is absolutely fine and there is no truth to any fake health reports. There is no stopping us and we will take down Montreal tomorrow night!”

SEBASTIAN BACH's New Solo Album Is 'Shaping Up To Be A Kick In The Ass'

Posted on March 19, 2019 at 7:35 PM Comments comments (0)

Former SKID ROW frontman Sebastian Bach is about to sign a new record deal for his upcoming solo album. The disc, which is not expected to arrive before late 2019 at the earliest, will feature contributions from several well-known guitarists, including John 5 (ROB ZOMBIE, MARILYN MANSON), Steve Stevens (BILLY IDOL) and Orianthi (ALICE COOPER).

Earlier today, Bach wrote on his Facebook page: "The internet is neat to send ideas back and forth for musicians to see how they sound. But there is no replacing getting players in a room, together, bashing out ideas and getting some real human chemistry going. This is how we created the albums 'Skid Row', 'Slave to the Grind' & 'Angel Down', and this is how we are creating my new record. I could not be happier with the results!!

"I am so fortunate to be surrounded by the best musicians on the planet. We now have at least eight songs on the go for the next album. The players on the next album will include, once again, John 5, Steve Stevens, & Devin Bronson, also Orianthi, Brent Woods, & Eli Santana on guitars. These are the people I have been writing with and this album is shaping up to be a kick in the ass for sure. Yesterday's session was so much fun with Orianthi, what a talented guitar player and writer she fit right into the band! Jeremy Colson on drums is an absolute animal and figuring out parts with him is fun easy creative and the energy on these tracks = music that you can FEEL!

"We are about to sign the new record deal and could not be more excited!! New label info TBA very soon!! New Bach album coming your way!! #BachInStudio #demos"

Last year, Bach told Meltdown of Detroit's WRIF 101.1 FM radio station that he would ink a deal with a U.S.-based heavy metal record label that would help him make a "career-defining" new solo album.

Bach hasn't released a full-length disc since "Give 'Em Hell", which came out in 2014. Like its predecessor, 2011's "Kicking & Screaming", the disc was released through Frontiers Music Srl, the Italian label which specializes in what's commonly called AOR, a term that once signified a popular radio format ("album-oriented rock") but nowadays applies to acts whose airplay is marginal.

Although Bach had said in some of his interviews that his next record would be less musically aggressive and it would be "more uplifting and fun," he told WRIF that he has had a change of heart.

"Well, before [the new record deal] happened, I was thinking of doing more of an acoustic-based record because I've done a lot of solo records," he said. "I've done 'Angel Down', which I'm very proud of that album,. Then 'Kicking & Screaming', which is a great album. 'Give 'Em Hell'… Not to mention 'ABachalypse Now', which is a three-record set. 'Forever Wild' DVD, 'Bring 'Em Bach Alive!'… I've put out a lot of records. And putting out the last one, when I put so much time and effort into it and it doesn't get the attention that it deserves, for me as an artist, I'm, like, 'Fuck!' So I was, like, you know what? If I'm gonna put out another heavy metal, hard rock album, I need help. I need a company around me that's gonna put the same kind of attention and time and effort into it as I am. So now that looks like it's happening. So now I'm changing the way I'm looking at things."

I don't. Who is my running partner?"

MEGADETH'S DAVID ELLEFSON GOT DAVE MUSTAINE'S 'BLESSING' TO TRY OUT FOR METALLICA

Posted on March 12, 2019 at 9:35 PM Comments comments (0)

Did you know David Ellefson had Megadeth frontman Dave Mustaine's blessing to audition for Metallica?

The longtime Megadeth bassist recently recalled the circumstances surrounding the 2001 departure of Metallica bassist Jason Newsted, and he revealed that he himself may have had the chance to be the group's bass player.

After Newsted left Metallica, the band didn't get a permanent replacement until Ozzy and Infectious Grooves bassist Robert Trujillo joined following the recording of St. Anger. (On that album, producer Bob Rock plays bass.)

But, speaking to Bad Wolves guitarist Doc Coyle on his Ex-Man Podcast this week, the musician let it drop: Back then, Metallica's Lars Ulrich reached out to Megadeth's main man to ask if they could invite Ellefson for an audition.

Listen below, at around the 30-minute mark:

https://soundcloud.com/doc-coyle/ex-man-podcast-ep-82-david-ellefson-megadeth-altitudes-attitude

"I did not," Ellefson recalled when asked by Coyle if he was granted a Metallica audition. "Lars had contacted Dave [Mustaine] to ask him permission. Which I thought was kind of him to say, 'Hey, would it be OK if we reach out to Ellefson?' We had just recorded and turned in The World Needs a Hero."

The bassist continued, "Dave called me and he said, 'Listen, I would hate to lose you, but as your friend, I certainly couldn't hold you back from an opportunity like that.' So he gave it his blessing. I never did get the call."

While Ellefson didn't get the chance to audition, he remained a staunch supporter of Metallica. Especially their earlier work, with the musician citing the band's mid-1982 demo (on which Mustaine plays) as one of his favorites.

"I'm a big Metallica fan," he said. "Starting with No Life 'Til Leather. In fact, quite honestly, No Life 'Til Leather — that's my heart of Metallica. I love Kill 'Em All. I really love Master of Puppets. .... There was a different vibe about it."

Of course, the difference may owe to Mustaine's presence on lead guitar in that early demo, before the musician was ultimately removed from Metallica in 1983. Original Metallica bass player Ron McGovney also appears on No Life 'Til Leather, but he was replaced with the late Cliff Burton the same year it was recorded.

"When I met Dave, Kill 'Em All wasn't even out yet," Ellefson explained. "They had let Dave go. ... So this is June of '83. What I liked was the bass player, Ron McGovney. As much as everybody's really into Cliff [Burton], my Metallica was with Ron McGovney. And that's why on 'Mechanix,' when we put it on Killing Is My Business, I played Ron's bass line."

To that, the Megadeth member brings us back to 2001 — him sitting down with some 'tallica tracks to learn the tunes. It was in that moment, he recalled, that he initially became attuned to the shared characteristics between both bands.

"I sat down in 2001," Ellefson said. "I thought, 'If I do get the call, I should probably be kind of prepared.' So the first time I sat down and I actually played along with something simple, like stuff off The Black Album, 'Holier Than Thou,' stuff like that. And that was the first time I realized, man, for as much as Metallica and Megadeth are so similar — seemingly similar — riffs… Dave obviously having been in the band, so there's a piece of the DNA inside of Megadeth, for sure, the way Dave phrases his vocals over the riffs versus how James [Hetfield] phrases his vocals. ... Dave's almost like Geddy Lee does it."

Megadeth's remastered greatest hits collection Warheads on Foreheads hits March 22. Metallica are on tour now.

MOTLEY CRUE'S NIKKI SIXX - "WE DIDN'T PLAY BY THE RULES, AND THAT'S A COOL PLACE TO BE"

Posted on March 12, 2019 at 9:30 PM Comments comments (0)

In a new interview with L.A. Weekly, Mötley Crüe’s Nikki Sixx talked about their upcoming Netflix biopic The Dirt as well other topics surrounding the band.

Sixx talked about the future of the band saying, “It’s taken a lot to get the movie made and we got the songs done. We’ve got a soundtrack coming. The trailer’s finished, and we’re working on a video for ‘The Dirt’ song. It’ll come out on March 22nd. We’re into helping our audience migrate to streaming. This whole Netflix as a streaming platform and all our partners are streaming partners. Yes, we have distribution, and we do CDs. We’ve talking about playing, maybe if we were inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. But I wouldn’t take that bet, buddy. It would be nice for the band but I don’t think any of us feel like that would be the biggest deal in the world. It would be cool. We’re in this cool list of people that never won a Grammy, like Led Zeppelin and the Stones. We’re sort of in this elite group of people that have done very well but not been acknowledged by the Recording Academy and stuff like that. We didn’t play by the rules, and that’s a cool place to be.”

Guns N' Roses turntable launched

Posted on March 12, 2019 at 9:25 PM Comments comments (0)

Hi-Fi company Pro-Ject have announced a Guns N' Roses turntable. The turntable is based on the company's popular Essential III A model, with an upgraded platter.

"Guns N’ Roses are a staple of the rock music scene," say the company. "Everything in a classic GnR track sounds real, everything fits together and everything sounds better than many modern recordings. So, what better way to experience their iconic sound in the modern era than with an award-winning turntable that’s designed in their honour?

"What makes the Guns N’ Roses Record Player unique is its appearance," they continue. "For the first time with one of their turntables, Pro-Ject have directly printed artwork onto the Acryl-IT E platter.

"Using a meticulous printing process, the instantly recognisable Guns N’ Roses logo fills the entire 12” platter surface. The end result is a yellow hue that glows above the gloss black MDF plinth, which itself features a small logo underneath the tonearm’s rest position."

The special edition deck also features an Ortofon OM 10 elliptical cartridge, a belt drive system with a precision diamond-cut aluminium pulley, and a 8.6in aluminium tonearm.

Readers in Canada may be interested to learn that the band's Locked And Loaded box set is currently available at a 35% discount, with the turntable included as a bonus item.

Two weeks ago, Guns N' Roses bassist Duff McKagan confirmed that the band are working on a new studio album.

"I’ve heard some magnificent stuff that Axl has," he said. "Really cool stuff he'd been working on. So I'm excited about the possibilities with that, of course.

“I don't mean to get anybody rabid. A new Guns N’ Roses album will happen when it happens, that's for sure.”

MIKE TRAMP On His 2008 Attempt To Resurrect WHITE LION Without VITO BRATTA: 'It Was Just A Moment Of Weakness'

Posted on March 12, 2019 at 9:25 PM Comments comments (0)

Ex-WHITE LION singer Mike Tramp says that he has apologized to Vito Bratta for trying to resurrect his former band without his onetime songwriting partner and bandmate.

The Danish-born singer hasn't played with Bratta since WHITE LION performed its last concert in Boston in September 1991.

In the 28 years since WHITE LION broke up, Bratta's public profile has been virtually nonexistent, while Tramp has remained active, recording and touring as a solo artist and with the bands FREAK OF NATURE, THE ROCK 'N' ROLL CIRCUZ and, more recently, BAND OF BROTHERS. Tramp also attempted to revive WHITE LION with the 2008 album "Return Of The Pride", featuring new members. Two years later, Tramp ceded ownership of the name WHITE LION to Bratta in an out-of-court settlement.

Speaking to SiriusXM's "Trunk Nation", Tramp said that he and Vito are once again on speaking terms following his ill-fated attempt to bring back WHITE LION more than a decade ago.

"I have, over the past couple of years, been the one out there basically both admitting and apologizing that the only thing that I never planned to do in my career and wanted to do was go back and rehash a version of WHITE LION that had nothing to do with WHITE LION, nothing to do with the guys that played in the band," Mike said. "Mike Tramp's heart was not in it. It was just a moment of weakness, not believing enough in my solo albums. [You listen to] some guys saying, 'Hey, if you put a new WHITE LION together, you can play festivals and get much more money.' And then you fall for that and you engage in it and you go out there, and then you realize it's not what you wanna do. And then, of course, Vito did not want the name WHITE LION to be used without him being in the band. And it actually took a couple of years for me to really understand how much it meant to Vito. And when Vito one day told me in one of these conversations… First of all, he told me, 'Mike, I'm not against you. I just don't wanna turn YouTube on and see the title 'WHITE LION live in so and so,' and somebody doing 'When The Children Cry' solo and it's not me. WHITE LION was you and me, it was our band, we wrote the songs. That is the memories I want for the rest of my life.' And when he told me that, I had tears in my eyes and I totally understood it, because I had also gotten to that point that when we closed WHITE LION, we felt that this is where we wanted to stop it. There was something, going into the '90s, that didn't agree with the things we were looking at, and we wanted to somehow end it on a higher level than something that would not represent us in the future. But it just took many years to really understand it."

Asked if he understands why Vito doesn't want to play music professionally anymore, Mike said: "Yes, I do, because there are actually times when I also don't feel like doing it anymore. When all the magic around us, the stuff that made us fall in love with rock and roll — first of all, our heroes, then the industry, then the touring stuff — when all of that was really exposed that it was a two-faced kind of thing, that the people we thought loved us — and I'm not talking about the fans; I'm talking about the people that made money from us, and stuff like that — turned their back on us and stabbed us in the back, it really ripped us apart. And maybe it's just that I came from a different background than Vito, that I maybe was a little bit stronger or just of a different nature that I just fought back, but Vito just said, 'I just don't wanna deal with this.' And I understand now — I understand it from every conversation that I have with him."

Tramp also once again closed the door on a possible WHITE LION reunion, saying: "I can't be Mike Tramp 1988. I can't sing like that, and I'm not going up on stage and doing a half-assed job, which most of the bands out there are doing."

Mainly active in the 1980s and early 1990s, WHITE LION released its debut album, "Fight To Survive", in 1985. The band had its breakthrough with the double-platinum-selling "Pride" album, which produced two Top 10 hits: "Wait" and "When The Children Cry". The band continued its success with the third album, "Big Game", which achieved gold status.

By the time WHITE LION released its final album, 1991's "Mane Attraction", alternative rock was in the ascendancy, leading to a swift decline of the so-called "hair metal" scene in terms of sales, popularity, radio play, and most importantly, relevance.

BAD COMPANY - 40TH ANNIVERSARY OF DESOLATION ANGELS ALBUM CELEBRATED ON INTHESTUDIO; AUDIO INTERVIEW

Posted on March 12, 2019 at 9:15 PM Comments comments (0)

North American syndicated rock radio show and website, InTheStudio With Redbeard: The Stories Behind History’s Greatest Rock Bands, celebrates the 40th anniversary of Bad Company's Desolation Angels album.

Says host Redbeard: "Five years after their 1974 debut album made them a “super group”, there was real concern that Bad Company had augered in with a collective faceplant due to a dearth of strong material and sheer exhaustion from a non-stop cycle of recording and touring. After three consecutive million-sellers in as many years, the British foursome consisting of ex-Mott the Hoople guitarist Mick Ralphs, King Crimson bass player Boz Burrell, and Paul Rodgers and Simon Kirke, half of blues-rockers Free, all were as Rodgers told me, ”burnt” by the time they recorded 1977’s spotty Burnin’ Sky album.

"After a much needed two year hiatus, Bad Company re-emerged with their strongest batch of songs since that impressive debut, including the electrifying “Rock’n’Roll Fantasy”, ”Evil Wind”, and “Crazy Circles” all from Paul Rodgers chronicling life on tour; Burrell’s simple groove on “Gone, Gone, Gone”; and the mid-tempo rocker “Oh Atlanta” from Ralphs. My guests In the Studio Rodgers, Ralphs, and Simon Kirke share a humorous, touching tribute to the late Boz Burrell, plus you will hear the original Bad Company’s final recording “Hammer of Love”."

Glenn Hughes continues to celebrates his legacy in the MK 3 and MK 4 versions of Deep Purple with a special live show, but the bassist and vocalist says that he has no interest of joining the current version of the band as a guest on their The Long Goodbye farewell tour.

The Glenn Hughes Performs Classic Deep Purple Live tour has a number of dates scheduled across the globe this year, including several in Europe and North America and UK leg in May.

KaaosTV caught up with Glenn late last year and asked him if he had any interest in making special appearances with the current incarnation of his former band on their extended farewell tour.

He responded, "No. I'm doing what I'm doing now. I'm really, really happy playing these songs with my band, and the audiences are very, very happy. We've had great attendances across the world, so I'm really happy about doing that.".

KISS's PAUL STANLEY Says 'It Makes Perfect Sense' That So Many Other Veteran Rock Bands Are Also Retiring

Posted on March 11, 2019 at 9:25 PM Comments comments (0)

KISS frontman Paul Stanley says that he is not surprised to see so many farewell tours and retirements afoot, involving a lot of big names in the rock world. "It actually makes logical sense," he tells the Detroit Free Press. "It's not a coincidence. Because many of these acts, artists and entertainers are from the same general time frame or generation. So it makes perfect sense. There are some who are drawing a purely nostalgic audience of older people."

He continued: "I'm incredibly gratified to see that our audience spans three generations. I always like to know, during a show, how many people are seeing us for the first time. That's important. There is a legend, if you will, of this band KISS, and there are still people coming for the first time, to see if it's worthy of that legend. And by end of the show, if not sooner, it's really clear to everybody that most don't want to see this end."

Over the past couple of years, we've seen a flurry of farewell tours, more than ever before, from BLACK SABBATH to SLAYER to LYNYRD SKYNYRD.

KISS's "End Of The Road" farewell tour launched in late January in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. The first leg of the global trek, which could last three years, will wrap April 13 in Birmingham, Alabama.

The KISS lineup on the "End Of The Road" tour features the current version of the band — Stanley, fellow co-founding bandmember Gene Simmons on bass and vocals, Tommy Thayer on guitar and Eric Singer on drums. As has been the case with all of KISS's tours since 1996, the band is in full makeup, though Thayer and Singer are replacements for original members Ace Frehley and Peter Criss, respectively.

In addition to the North American leg, European and Australian and New Zealand dates were recently announced, wrapping up at the beginning of December.

'BOHEMIAN RHAPSODY' SEQUEL IN DISCUSSIONS AFTER QUEEN BIOPIC'S SUCCESS

Is a sequel to the hit Queen biopic Bohemian Rhapsody in the works?

According to Rudi Dolezal, a director who worked on multiple Queen music videos in the past, the band and filmmakers are currently in discussions for a follow-up movie.

In fact, Dolezal — who helmed clips for around 30 Queen tunes and reportedly became close with lead singer Freddie Mercury before his death due to complications from AIDS — recently surmised that longtime band manager Jim Beach already has an idea up his sleeve for a new film that picks up where Bohemian Rhapsody left off.

Rob Halford: There's definitely a new Judas Priest album on the way

Posted on March 11, 2019 at 8:25 PM Comments comments (0)

udas Priest frontman Rob Halford says the band have begun discussions about a new studio album and he says it will “definitely” happen.

The band are currently on the road in support of 2018’s Firepower, but that hasn’t stopped them from looking to the future and planning their next steps.

Asked by May The Rock Be With You what’s next for the band, Halford replies: “I would say much of the same. Judas Priest is on a roll and we're on fire with this music.

“The reaction, the support from our fans, and everybody is what gives you that thought of, ‘What would happen if we did another song, then another song and then an album? We might as well go out and tour again.’

“It's a lot of things combined that really still keeps us active.”

Halford continues: “Each Judas Priest album has its own character and sound. British Steel is light years away from Painkiller, which is light years away from Stained Class, which is light years away from Sad Wings Of Destiny and Sin After Sin.

“We're always looking for a different type of tilt to what we're about as a band in the next project of songs we're going to release.”

He adds: “We're already thinking about that now. We had a meeting in the UK just before we came to Australia about planning the foreseeable future and I would say there's definitely another Judas Priest album on the way.”

Priest appeared at Download Melbourne over the weekend, and footage of the performance can be watched below.

NIKKI SIXX Says MOTLEY CRUE's 'Anger' At KISS And TRAVIS SCOTT Was 'Misdirected'

Posted on March 11, 2019 at 8:15 PM Comments comments (0)

Nikki Sixx says that he has "no problems" with KISS, less than a month after he called out the make-up-wearing rockers' "End Of The Road" farewell tour for allegedly ripping off production elements from MÖTLEY CRÜE's final trek.

On February 17, Sixx posted a side-by-side photo comparison of him being carried by a crane and Gene Simmons on strikingly similar-looking stage prop. Nikki wrote in an accompanying message: "Wow. Our body wasn't even cold before they took this exact grande finale from our tour. Might not matter to Kiss fans but it does to Crue fans. I dug their music when I was a little kid and it was cool to Co-Headline together a few years but this disappoints me."

Sixx's comments came three months after CRÜE drummer Tommy Lee threatened legal action against Travis Scott when he found out that the rapper's stage included a roller coaster the drummer claimed was too similar to the one he used on the band's last few tours.

Nikki spoke about the alleged similarities between KISS's and CRÜE's stage shows during a recent interview with SiriusXM. He said (hear audio below): "We've got no problems with [KISS]. You know who we had a little bit of a problem with? This company [that built the stage] — I'm not even gonna give 'em props [by] naming them. We've worked with them a long time with our production manager, and they've done stuff with us that's really cool, like Tommy's roller coaster and different versions of that. And that takes a lot of technology and a lot of people to make it happen, make it cool and make it safe. You've gotta take that around the world. Well, then, they give the same thing to Travis Scott. And Tommy was bummed. But we misdirected our anger. He was mad at Travis Scott. Travis Scott probably didn't even know that we even did that however many years ago. And then my thing was they're using the same arms that we developed. But you know what? Not shame on KISS, not shame on Travis Scott — shame on the company for doing that. We will never work with them again."

Following Lee's original comments about Scott, a lawyer for the rapper told TMZ: "Tommy didn't invent the concept of a roller coaster on stage and there's no legal basis for his accusatory outburst. The actual creator and owner of the system has granted Travis all rights to use that equipment to complement his original stage design."

Back in 2012, KISS and MÖTLEY CRÜE teamed up for "The Tour", a joint summer package that saw each play a full set, with KISS closing every night.

IRON MAIDEN REVEAL JAPANESE STYLE TROOPER 'SUN AND STEEL' LAGER

Posted on March 11, 2019 at 8:10 PM Comments comments (0)

Iron Maiden have revealed that the latest edition of their Trooper beer will be their first lager-styled beverage, which was developed by frontman Bruce Dickinson over three years of work with partners Robinsons Brewery.

Named after a track from 1983 album Piece of Mind, the double-fermented 4.8%ABV drink is made with Japanese sake yeast. It’s described as “one of the most complex beers” the 170-year-old British company has created, and it’s said to feature a “delicate, subtle fruit flavour infused into a Pilsner style lager.” Sun and Steel will be released on May 6 in the U.K. to mark the original Trooper’s sixth birthday, with U.S. availability to follow later in 2019.

In a statement, Iron Maiden explained the idea was first conceived in 2016 after a meeting with friend and fan George Yusa, owner of the Okunomatsu Sake Brewery in Fukushima, Japan. “Bruce became intrigued with the idea of putting the two flavour profiles together and thus Sun and Steel was born,” the band said. “George was able to deliver a sample of the sake yeast to Iron Maiden’s 2017 concert at London’s O2 Arena, which Bruce took up to Robinsons Brewery. Having obtained permission from the Japanese government to brew with it, Martyn [Weeks, head brewer] and the team have been carefully cultivating the strain ever since.”

Dickinson said: “This has been such an exciting project. I had a crazy idea to try and make a sake infused lager and over two and a half years later, here we are! I know Martyn and the team at Robinsons have had to become mad scientists to make this work but the end result is a really unique hybrid beer that tastes fantastic. Trooper fans have been asking for a lager, and here it is. I bet you would never have guessed we would do it like this though!”

Previously, Iron Maiden and Robinsons launched the stronger 666, Red ’N’ Black porter, the Belgian-styled Hallowed, session drink Light Brigade and kegged Nitro, all following the original Trooper from 2013.

FIVE FINGER DEATH PUNCH'S IVAN MOODY GETS GIANT FACE TATTOO TO MARK ONE YEAR SOBER ANNIVERSARY

Posted on March 11, 2019 at 8:05 PM Comments comments (0)

One year is a big deal, especially when you're talking about marking a sober anniversary. Over the weekend, Five Finger Death Punch vocalist Ivan Moody hit that mark, receiving praise and support from his bandmates. The singer also did something special to mark the occasion, getting a fresh facial tattoo.

The vocalist visited the Trip Ink Tattoo Company in Las Vegas, where he had tattoo artist Rick Trip provide some very special ink. "I'm going to get a phoenix tattooed throughout the side of my face and the one and only Rick Trip is going to be responsible," says Moody in one of the videos he posted via Instagram.

Captioned "My blood for yours," Moody showcases a design he liked, then proceeded to post a number of photos and videos from the shop as the tattooing was in progress.

Trip reveals that he used a very special bottle of Rick Walters' signature series traditional red ink to ensure the quality and lasting power of Moody's tattoo. Walters recently passed away, and the bottle Trip used to ink Moody was his final bottle of this specific red ink.

One other interesting revelation from the tattoo session was a moment when Moody heard Godsmack playing in the background, with the singer praising both Sully Erna and Shannon Larkin from the band and expressing his desire on camera to collaborate with Erna on a song.

With the ink complete, Moody rolled over some footage into a second instagram post, using a wealth of hashtags to express his feelings. They include: #fromtheashes #venividivici #phoenixrising #soitbegins #mylegacy #soberasfuck #salvation #ashes #dyingbreed #liftmeup #washitallaway #blueonblack #burnitdown #irefuse #vegasstronger #battleborn #welcometothepride  #whentheseasonschange #justfortoday #onebreathatatime #strengthinnumbers #ivegotyour6
